澳门人威尼斯3966全英授课项目团队组织第一次公开课展示

2020年11月5日,澳门人威尼斯3966全英授课团队在长清校区C145教室组织了别开生面的公开课活动。本学期承担全英教学任务的陈舒曼老师及袁文华老师进行了教学示范,澳门人威尼斯3966副院长刘钻扩教授出席,项东教授及承担英文教学任务的教师及多名学生积极参与。

首先,全英团队负责人李斐斐副教授对本次活动的目的及详细流程进行了介绍。她指出,公开课展示将成为全英教学团队的常态化工作机制,是团队各成员互相学习和交流的平台,是对全英课程教学效果的督促和评价手段。

陈舒曼老师的教学节段为“Calculate cost in perpetual system by using 4 different methods”,她对specific identification, FIFO,LIFO和Weighted average这四种方法做了详细的讲述,将抽象的会计概念转化为生动的教学实例,并结合算法帮助学生加强理解。此外,陈舒曼老师就授课准备、与学生的沟通方式、课程考核等方面与各位老师进行了深入的分享。

袁文华老师的教学节段为“Price Elasticity and its Application”。她详细讲述了价格弹性的概念及弹性与收入之间的关系,并结合实际案例深入展开,最后启发学生思考“谷贱伤农”现象的原因。袁文华老师英文功底深厚,授课过程流畅,案例丰富,思考题具启发性。授课结束后,袁老师分享了自己的授课经历,在课堂中遇到的难题及解决方法。

随后,团队成员对两位老师的公开课进行了点评和深度讨论。项东教授从英文发音、语速、节奏,尤其是如何讲解理论等问题做了详细点评,提出了授课时中英文占比要结合授课内容灵活确定等宝贵建议。吴梦娜副教授基于丰富的教学经验和国外访学经历,就案例选择、英语讲课技巧、PPT设计等给两位老师提出了有效的改进方法,提出了初期不要过多纠结于语法、加强师生互动、让学生成为课堂主导等宝贵建议。李斐斐副教授就英文课的教学设计、教学内容的重构以及如何提高英文授课水平等分享了自己思考。随后,参与活动的各位老师就本次展示的课程内容、教学效果等进行了深入的探讨和交流。

最后,澳门人威尼斯3966副院长刘钻扩教授对两位老师的精彩表现进行了点评和肯定,重申了澳门人威尼斯3966对大力推动国际化教学、打造高质量全英教学团队等工作的坚定决心,鼓励全英项目团队的各位老师在教学上大胆创新,敢于尝试新事物,拓展国际视野,在国际化教学平台上大展拳脚,为学院的发展贡献力量。

Full-English Teaching Team Organized the First Open Class Demonstration

On November 5th 2020, the Full-English teaching team organized a unique open class activity in Room C145 of Changqing Campus. Open class display will become a normal working mechanism of teaching team and a platform for team members to learn and communicate with each other. Meanwhile it is a means to supervise and evaluate the actual teaching performance.

Teacher Chen Shuman's teaching section was "Calculate cost in perpetual system by using 4 different methods". Four methods, FIFO,LIFO and Weighted Average were described in details.Shetransformed abstract accounting concepts into vivid teaching examples and combined with algorithms to help students strengthen their understanding.

Teacher Yuan Wenhua's teaching section is "Price Elasticity and its Application". She gave a detailed description of the concept of price elasticity and the relationship between price elasticity and income. She combined theories with actual cases and inspired students to think about the reasons for the phenomenon of "grain low hurts farmers".Ms. Yuan Wenhua's teaching process was smooth, with abundant cases and enlightening questions.

Afterwards, the team members made comments and had in-depth discussions on the two teachers' open class performance. Professor Xiang Dong commented on English pronunciation, speed, rhythm, especially how to explain theories. He suggested that the proportion of English and Chinese should be determined flexibly according to the teaching content. Associate Professor Wu Mengna provided some effective improvement methods to the two teachers in terms of case selection, English teaching skills, PPT design, etc. She put forward valuable suggestions such as not too entangled with grammar in the early stage, strengthening teacher-student interaction and making students take the lead in class.
